PUBLIC NOTICE

TO WHOM SOEVER IT MAY CONCERN

It has come to the knowledge of the Commission that Urdu Education Board has been issuing Secondary School Examination certificates by positioning itself as Govt. Recognized Minority Education Board authorized to conduct secondary school examination as a board in different schools.

This is to inform that it has already been clarified by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Department of School Education and Literacy vide their letter no. : 16-227/2016 Sch. 3 dated 05.06.2017 that Urdu Education Board (UEB), Delhi has only been granted the status of a Minority Educational Institution by National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI) and not as a Minority Education Board.

As per NCMEI Act, 2004 Section 2(g) a “minority educational institution means a college or an educational institution established and administered by a minority or minorities”.

As such it cannot conduct public examinations and issue certificates for Secondary and Senior Secondary levels.

In Para 3 of the above referred letter, MHRD has also made it clear that any public examination conducted and consequently any certificates for secondary and senior secondary level issued by Urdu Education Board shall be treated as fake / cancelled.

“Hon’ble High Court of Delhi vide its order dated 17.08.2017 in WP(C) No. 6578/2017 & CM No. 27254/2017 has ordered the following :-

Paragraph 3 of the aforenoted communication is stayed till the next date of hearing.”

It is also pertinent to mention that a separate proceeding vide case no. 837/ 2018, for cancellation of Minority Status Certificate granted in favour of Urdu Education Board, Kasturba Balika Vidyalaya Campus, Ishwar Nagar, Mathura Road, New Friends Colony, New Delhi-110065, is pending before the NCMEI.

 Accordingly, all the concerned students, parents, educational institutions and existing or prospective employers are requested to take note.
